New Public Toilets – Bring Temporary Relief

People are ‘busting’ to talk about the new public toilets installed in Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise. They are on trial to curb the public urination problem in the area. But ‘hold on’….aren’t these public toilets a little too public? What is the difference between standing up against a wall versus standing up in the middle of a mall with friends to chat with? Sure, the shop windows and flowerbeds will no longer cop a free watering but has this new concept become the Gold Coast’s new ‘no.1’ attraction? I have…

The Dementia Rollercoaster – Who’s With Me?

The Dementia Rollercoaster is certainly not one for the faint hearted. Sometimes it’s scary, sometimes it’s not that bad. You never know what’s around the corner unless you ride it regularly. The Partingtons ‘Carve it Up’ at Murray Bridge

Today was like stepping back in time to our childhood where we spent many days learning to ski at White Sands & Mannum. My son Zak then rings me to tell me our $800 Go-Pro was dropped and is now not working. (was required for our xmas day) Zak searches the net and…

Teenager for Hire

This is my oldest son Zak who is 15. He is a great lad who is polite, inquisitive and enjoys helping others. He is not sure what he wants to do when he leaves school in a few years, but is looking for some work experience or perhaps a regular/casual job during the school holidays. During this year (on the weekends) Zak has been doing gardening, odd jobs and irrigation work for some local Woodside residents, volunteered at events for a nursing home and also for Alzheimer’s Australia. Zak also…

ICE – The Drug That Is Really Costing Us

I am the last person to get political but I need to say something about Australia’s current drug problem. Why are our youth going for this drug which is killing so many? I found out today that proportionally Australia is the biggest user of methamphetamines in the world…..this is simply a disgrace. The Government is spending 600 MILLION DOLLARS to fix the problem. This is a self inflicted problem! What about all the people who have diseases and illnesses that have been contracted naturally? I have recently witnessed the…
