Read MoreToday I made the life changing decision to go to Uni (while still working). This is one thing I never thought I would be saying, as ‘Partingtons’ & ‘Universities’ are normally natural enemies. I will be studying ‘Dementia Care’ (online via University of Tasmania) and hoping in the future to be one of Australia’s leading dementia care trainers and advocates. Considering I can’t stay awake long enough to read a newspaper, I have a lotta work to do. 🙂 I hope the course is a lot easier than the enrolment…

Read MoreHas our larrikin and fun loving reputation gone forever? Light hearted banter between Aussie men and women has been going on for years, but now is fast becoming a ‘no-go zone’ and a potential legal minefield. He literally hates the subject, and hates giving up holidays for schoolwork, but is taking it on and winning. It was amazing to work with him last night and see a rare moment when he just ‘gets it (and be so excited he voluntarily knocks out another 15 correct examples) ‘. In the one session he managed to learn Cos, Sine & Tan formulas whilst using…

Read MoreI was recently walking down Hutt St, City and found this cafe which has been purpose built to give unemployed people some barista and waiting experience to give them a head start. I believe it is a church based group, and the concept certainly could be adopted by others to create opportunities for those less fortunate. Great signs and attitude. Bravo!
